The Rust Buster Gas Tank Crossmember is an OEM-style direct replacement for the crossmember positioned forward of the rear axle. This crossmember supports the rear end of the gas tank. Detailed installation instructions are provided to assist with the installation process.

The Rust Buster Gas Tank Crossmember is created to replace the mounting locations for the gas tank in Silverado 1500's from model years 1999 to 2006. With an EZ Slip design, this repair section is engineered for easy installation by sliding onto the frame. It comes pre-drilled with all necessary factory holes and mounting points, streamlining the installation process.

Advanced CAD design technology is employed to model each repair section with precision before production. The manufacturing process includes laser cutting, forming, and finish welding to ensure high-quality repair sections.

The primary aim of the Rust Buster Gas Tank Crossmember is to extend the operational lifespan of trucks. By addressing gas tank mounting issues, this product provides a solution to a common problem and helps to keep vehicles on the road for many years.

A notable feature is the use of Heavy duty 11 Gauge steel for the crossmember tubes. These tubes are Mandrel bent, just like the original parts. The crossmember is not constructed using Thin Wall Exhaust tubing, ensuring durability and reliability.

The cross tube comes pre-welded with various components, including the left side inside mount plate, the right side upper shock mount, the fuel tank strap hanger bracket, and the fuel tank support mount bracket (with a new bolt included). Additionally, two outer end plates, the right side inside mount plate, and two crossmember end caps are provided loose for ease of installation.

This replacement crossmember is designed with DIY installers in mind. There's no need to remove the truck bed. The process involves removing the old shock, removing the fuel tank (recommended when welding on a frame), cutting away the remaining crossmember, notching out the frame, sliding the replacement into place, welding it securely, and finally reinstalling the tank and new shocks. The product is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, demonstrating the manufacturer's confidence in its quality and durability.
