Issue: The factory rubber body mount located above the front leaf spring mounting point on the CJ7 often leads to the deterioration of the frame area. Over time, moisture becomes trapped around the leaf spring bushings, and dirt and debris accumulate inside the frame rails. This combination results in severe rust-through of the frame.

Solution: To address this problem, the suggested solution involves several steps:

    • Removal: Cut out the old rubber body mount to eliminate the source of moisture retention.

    • Rust Removal: Cut back the rusted portions of the frame to ensure a clean surface for repair.

    • Rust Buster Frame Repair Installation: Apply the Rust Buster Frame Repair over the rusted and damaged frame area. This cap is designed to cover and reinforce the affected section.

    • Welding: Weld the Rust Buster Frame Repair in place to secure it to the frame and ensure structural integrity.

    Benefits:

    • Cost-Effective Solution: The proposed solution avoids the need for an expensive full frame replacement, which can save both time and money.

    • Repair and Reinforcement: By cutting out the deteriorated sections, addressing rust, and using the Rust Buster Frame Repair, the frame area is repaired and reinforced for improved durability.

    • Preservation of Vehicle: This solution helps preserve the overall condition of the CJ7 by preventing further rust-related damage and maintaining its structural integrity.

Additional Note: For optimal results, it's recommended to purchase new leaf spring mount bushings.
