I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado, extended cab. Living in northeast Ohio the winters are sometimes brutal with the use of salt to control snow and ice. Needless to say, after 24 years, the frame is extremely rusty. One day I went to jack up the truck on the driver side, and the jack went through the bottom of the frame.
The frame is rusted forward of the body mount. At this point in the frame, there are several compound angles and bends. The repair piece is engineered to fit all the angles and bends, and easily slipped over the existing frame.
The gauge of the metal had to be at least twice the thickness of the factory frame. The piece came with optional cut out areas making it simple to install. Because of the rust, I cannot weld the new piece, so I will be bolting it through the existing frame. The sides and top of the frame are not rusted out, only the bottom.
I would recommend Rust Buster products to anyone needing to get a few more miles out of their vehicle.
I am impressed with how well the frame kit fit. I did have to modify it a little to made it work for the application but I would definitely purchase another one when the time came for another repair. Thank you for providing us with a great product

These parts are NOT CHEAP. but you get what you pay for, they fit like a glove. The other option is you fab your own stuff, nerd around and weld it on. good quality parts.
